Gomez, Norman, Oswald Return to GT3 Cup at Lime Rock

Petaluma, CA (June 6, 2011)- Following a several week break since the last round at Montreal, TRG heads to this weekend's Northeast Grand Prix at the historic Lime Rock Park circuit in Lakeville, Connecticut, with terrific momentum and a strong sense of enthusiasm following the last round in Montreal.

When the IMSA GT3 Cup Challenge season started with full-season drivers Dr. Jim Norman and Randy Oswald, optimism was extremely high following the incredibly strong pace and commitment that both drivers showed in pre-season testing. Following the last race in Montreal, the result provided nearly everything the team had hoped for with all 3 TRG drivers performing flawlessly in some seriously adverse conditions. Dr. Jim Norman scored an incredible fourth place drive with Randy Oswald in hot pursuit.

Joined by team newcomer Carlos Gomez, who drove brilliantly and finished a strong sixth place finish in his first event with the team in Montreal, the team now heads to this weekend's round in Lime Rock as a strong contender for results.

For Dr. Jim Norman, finally scoring a top-five was long overdue, and provides ample confidence and enthusiasm headed in to this weekend's round.

"I'm glad we were finally able to show what we've been capable of in Montreal," stated Norman. "We have a great team and a strong car, so I'm hoping this can continue in to Lime Rock. It's a track I'm really excited to push the limit at, it has such a strong history."

For Carlos Gomez, a fantastic debut with the team has left high hopes for the rest of the season.

"Coming to Lime Rock, I think we're off to a great start with the TRG team," stated the Colombian. "The team put together a great car and a great effort for my first race in Montreal, and I don't see why the result can't continue in to this weekend and the rest of the season."

For Randy Oswald, who fell on to a little bit of bad luck in Montreal, is looking forward to a change in fortune for this weekend.

"Lime Rock is always a great track to come to," stated the Canadian. "The race in Montreal proved the overall strength of the team, and I think headed in to this weekend's race our luck and fortune should improve dramatically, I'm really looking forward to it."

For TRG Team Owner Kevin Buckler, his three-car IMSA GT3 Cup Challenge effort is proving to be a great developing ground for his drivers.

"I'm so proud of all these guys and how they've developed in just the first half of the season," stated Buckler. "Dr. Jim really showed what he can do in Montreal, and I'm excited to see that continue. He is a "thinking" driver and really likes to analyze all the scenarios. That worked extremely well for him at Montreal in some incredibly difficult and treacherous conditions and he just blew the doors off a bunch of the alleged "hot-shoes." We couldn't have asked for a better debut with Carlos and that was only his first race! What a terrific drive he put in. I really like his style in how he approaches his driving both on and off the track. He is a perfect fit for our program and we will develop together nicely. Randy has been rock solid all season and FAST. He was quick out of the box at Montreal and had some real additional pressure with 30 family, friends and guests at the track as well as a throng of fans!! I love the Canadians and their passion for motorsports but you put a Canadian on that track, running with F-1 and you have some really cool moments. Randy was a Rock Star!! These guys are all working very hard to develop as drivers, and I think our program is really starting to hit it's stride... and we have only just begun. Lime Rock is a great circuit for our team, with numerous wins and podiums and I'm looking forward to continued results!"

The Northeast Grand Prix at Lime Rock Park will take place on Saturday, July 9, and can be followed via timing and scoring at imsaracing.net.
