TRG Takes Multiple Top-10 Finishes in IMSA Challenge at Lime Rock

Lakeville, CT (July 11, 2011)- Continuing the team's impressive form in recent races, all three of TRG's drivers in the IMSA GT3 Challenge presented by Yokohama took their turn at the top-10 at this weekend's Northeast Grand Prix at the historic Lime Rock Park circuit.

Running two races in a sprint format along the twisty and narrow 1.5 mile circuit, TRG's Dr. Jim Norman, Randy Oswald and Carlos Gomez all took their turn at a top-10, finishing as high as sixth, seventh, and fifth respectively.

Starting with the first race (round six of the championship), Dr. Jim Norman would play the starring role for TRG. Running fast and steady, Dr. Norman managed to avoid the inevitable carnage that can ensue during the 45-minute race, and managed to keep his car in one piece to take a sixth place finish.

Randy Oswald, meanwhile, would drive a strong and steady race to finish eleventh, and unfortunately Carlos Gomez would get caught in the inevitable chaos that can happen at these events to finish four laps down in 22nd.

Moving on to race two (round seven of the championship), fortunes would turn for Gomez, as the Colombian drove a brilliant race to take top honors for TRG, a fifth place finish that demonstrated both his talent and race-craft.

Randy Oswald would also take a great upturn in fortune, driving to a seventh place finish and one of his strongest races of the year.

Drawing the shorter straw this time around, Dr. Jim Norman would this time get caught in the inevitable carnage of the series, and would fall one lap down and finish 13th.

All in all, it was a great weekend for TRG's IMSA GT3 Challenge program, and for Team Owner Kevin Buckler all drivers should be proud.

"Everyone took their turn at the top-10 this weekend, and that’s really all you can ask," stated Buckler. "Carlos continues to just impress and impress, it's hard to believe it's only his second race with us. I'm delighted to see Dr. Jim crack another top-10 finish, as his speed has always been there, and a huge kudos to Randy who continues to deliver solid performances and I think he's in good shape for his home race in just two weeks."

Indeed, the next event will take place in Randy Oswald’s backyard Mosport International Racway, with live timing and scoring featured on imsaracing.net.

TRG Seeks to Defend Lime Rock Victory in ALMS

Petaluma, CA (July 6, 2011)- Having been off for nearly two months, TRG heads to the third round of the American Le Mans Series season as the defending winners at the historic Lime Rock Park circuit in Lakeville, Connecticut.

Coming off of the race at the Long Beach Grand Prix street circuit, TRG heads to Lime Rock off the momentum of winning last year's event, in which the team won a thrilling race that combined great driving with excellent strategy and mixed weather conditions.

Additionally, TRG is happy to welcome the latest addition to its famed driver development program, local hero Mike Piera. Piera, who lives so close to Lime Rock that he will be able to sleep in his own bed throughout the weekend, has been racing at the circuit for over 30 years, and has ample experience in not only Porsche GT3 cars, but several other SCCA formula's as well. This will be Mike's first foray into ALMS GT racing.

Gomez, Norman, Oswald Return to GT3 Cup at Lime Rock

Petaluma, CA (June 6, 2011)- Following a several week break since the last round at Montreal, TRG heads to this weekend's Northeast Grand Prix at the historic Lime Rock Park circuit in Lakeville, Connecticut, with terrific momentum and a strong sense of enthusiasm following the last round in Montreal.

When the IMSA GT3 Cup Challenge season started with full-season drivers Dr. Jim Norman and Randy Oswald, optimism was extremely high following the incredibly strong pace and commitment that both drivers showed in pre-season testing. Following the last race in Montreal, the result provided nearly everything the team had hoped for with all 3 TRG drivers performing flawlessly in some seriously adverse conditions. Dr. Jim Norman scored an incredible fourth place drive with Randy Oswald in hot pursuit.

Joined by team newcomer Carlos Gomez, who drove brilliantly and finished a strong sixth place finish in his first event with the team in Montreal, the team now heads to this weekend's round in Lime Rock as a strong contender for results.

Bertheau, Eversley Reunite in TRG's no. 67 at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca

Petaluma, CA (July 6, 2011)- Following a thrilling race just two weeks ago that saw Steve Bertheau take a podium position in front of his home crowd at Road America, TRG heads to their "home track" in search of continued success at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, the eighth round of the GRAND-AM Rolex Sports Car Series.

With season-long teammate Spencer Pumpelly committed to another event, Bertheau will be joined this weekend by professional driver Ryan Eversley. Eversley, from Dacula, Georgia, teamed with the duo at Watkins Glen International Raceway one month ago and drove with TRG to an eighth place finish at the Rolex 24 at Daytona.

Driving the no. 67 Sargent & Lundy Porsche GT3 Cup car, the team is hoping to take advantage of the third and fourth gear corners and uphill straightaways of the 2.2 mile, 11-turn circuit, to make a strong run at the event. TRG, notorious for impeccable race strategy, has a great history at Laguna Seca for not only being their home track, but also being able to take advantage of the inevitable caution periods that the circuit's gravel traps provide.
