Petaluma, CA (August 20th, 2014) – TRG-AMR is racing on both coasts this weekend, spread between Virginia International and Sonoma Raceways, battling for wins across both major North American sportscar racing series in four different classes. Competing on opposite sides of the country is no small feat for any team, especially when five transporters, eight cars, 10 drivers, and well over 50 race crew and operational staff involved in the complex logistical operations of a professional level Aston Martin racing team.
Adding to the exciting challenge is the inaugural Aston Martin Motorsports Festival the following weekend at Laguna Seca raceway in Monterey, California. This massive event is organized, hosted, and operated by TRG-AMR and has been received by all with rave reviews with participants attending from across North America. Endeavors like this race weekend and the upcoming Festival could not be accomplished without support from the teams’ partners and sponsors that include Royal Purple, Pirelli, PassTime USA, CarryOn.com, B+ Foundation, JetSet Magazine, and Adobe Road Winery amongst others. Of course, special recognition goes to Aston Martin for providing TRG-AMR with an incredible racing platform – the V8 and V12 Vantage models.
Racing at VIR is TRG-AMR’s IMSA team, consisting of the TUDOR United SportsCar Championship GTD-class No. 007 V12 Vantage GT3 machine as well as the GS-class No. 07 Aston Martin Vantage GT4 that competes in the Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge. On the West Coast there is a small fleet of Aston Martin racecars at Sonoma Raceway, with five V8 Vantage GT4s competing in Pirelli World Challenge GTS class and one V12 Vantage GT3 in GT competition. The team has an impressive history at both tracks, with numerous pole positions and wins across multiple series during more than two decades of professional racing.
No stranger to massive racing endeavors, TRG has a history of running multi-car teams across the whole of North America, operating different cars in different classes from coast-to-coast including the teams’ historic four wins at the storied Rolex 24 Hours at Daytona. The team has fielded as many as seven cars in the twice-round-the-clock enduro. TRG-AMR is unique in its ability to operate at this level, with a staff full of marketing, design, PR and business development professionals in addition to the experienced race operations and logistical staff.
