Petaluma, CA. (June 4, 2014) – TRG-Aston Martin Racing North America (TRG-AMR) will have another busy weekend.  The Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge team will take the No. 07 Vantage GT4 to Kansas Speedway in Kansas City, KS  for the Grand Prix of Kansas.  At the same time, TRG-AMR will also put on Round Three and Four of the Aston Martin GT4 Challenge of North America at the beautiful Virginia International Raceway in Alton, VA.

The Aston Martin Vantage GT4 No. 07 will feature another unique driver line-up.  Due to an unfortunate recent minor road car accident for lead driver Max Riddle, the team will be forced to substitute a driver for this weekend.  TRG-AMR driver James Davison will take Riddle’s place in the car that currently resides in second place in the championship.

Davison has been busy recently.  After his rookie outing in the Indy 500, Davison returned to his day job in the Aston Martin V12 Vantage GT3 in Detroit’s grand prix on Belle Isle. The fourth place result with co-driver Al Carter was the team’s best result of the year.  Now Davison returns to the Vantage GT4 with No. 07 TRG driver Kris Wilson.  Wilson comes off of the Lime Rock round where he and Peter Ludwig started second and finished sixth in the race.  Wilson has had a great season so far while driving with multiple co-drivers.  Both Wilson and Davison are confident they can contend for victory in Kansas in the 23-car GS field.

The GT4 Challenge series, meanwhile, moves to Virginia International Raceway for rounds three and four.  The series will continue to partner with NARRA in its busy weekend of events.  This event will feature a new driver in the series.  Steven Davison (no relation to James) has been a fan of the Aston Martin brand for many years.  He recently learned of the new series and contacted TRG-AMR CEO Kevin Buckler about the series and is the proud owner of a newly purchased GT4.  His debut weekend affords him ample testing and time to analyze data with driver coach Brandon Davis and Aston Martin Racing GT4 Challenge delegate Julian Clayton.  In addition, the event will include a paddock area car corral for NC, VA, and DC area Aston Martin owners.  The car corral will also feature the brand new Vantage GT road car thanks to Aston Martin of Greensboro and Charlotte.

Kevin Buckler, CEO, TRG-AMR North America, LLC on the upcoming weekend:

“Another big weekend for TRG-AMR and we are all looking forward to it. This is the first time that James and Kris have driven together and I think it is going to be a strong combo. We miss Max and look forward to getting him back in the car as soon as possible. The GT4 Challenge Team is getting set for their big weekend at VIR. Lots of great driving and instruction and of course a lot of fun!”
