The Streets of Detroit Host the Next Round
of IMSA TUDOR Competition

Monterey, CA (May 22nd, 2015) … A strong performance across all practice and qualifying sessions at the iconic Laguna Seca raceway saw the driver duo of Christina Nielsen and James Davison bring home the No. 007 Royal Purple/ORION/LaSalle Solutions/PassTime USA Aston Martin V12 Vantage GT3 in P5 of the IMSA TUDOR United SportsCar Championship. An unfortunate pit stop incident involving pit stalls too tightly packed together led to a delayed stop, forcing the V12 powered racing machine to fall from the lead of the race where it had showed dominance all day long.

The coming race at Detroit marks the fourth round of the IMSA TUDOR GTD season, with Nielsen and Davison having scored a Pole Position at The Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona, a P2 finish at the 12 Hours of Sebring, and a strong P5 finish after leading the race at Laguna Seca. The streets of Detroit are up next, with the V12 Vantage GT3 set to tackle the temporary street circuit next weekend (May 29-31). After the IMSA and PWC races of May are in the rearview mirror, the team is embarking on one the most complex endeavors to date: moving eight cars, a transporter, equipment, and over 40 personnel to Le Mans, France for the Le Mans Festival Race with Aston Martin as the featured marque. More information on that can be found here.

TRG-AMR CEO Kevin Buckler:

“What a great time to be heading to the Motor City. With everything going on and the big resurgence of Detroit and a true “doubleheader” racing weekend for us, this is going to be big. We have a jam-packed schedule with practices and three separate races across two separate paddocks and we have lovely evening events booked every night. Christina and James have been working very hard preparing for this race with video, data, fitness, etc. – they are ready! After the strong performances so far and running strong in the points in IMSA, everybody is eager to get on the track and get racing. We also have some fun events, including Adobe Road Wine dinners at the Big Rock Chophouse and at Papa Joe’s – click the links for more info. We always love to have our friends, family, and guests attend. RSVP with Ashly for the wine dinners or Carla to come see us race the streets of Detroit!”
