LEXINGTON, OH. – August 1, 2015 – A super packed race weekend kicked off today in Lexington, Ohio, which is hosting four races as part of the Pirelli World Challenge at the scenic Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course. Racing in the GTA and GTS classes in the Pirelli World Challenge is TRG-Aston Martin Racing with two drivers who have performed strong this year— Christina Nielsen, who will drive the #7 Aston Martin Vantage GT3 in the GTA class and Kris Wilson, who is racing the #07 Aston Martin Vantage GT4 in the GTS class. Nielsen and Wilson will compete in two races each for their class and are poised to perform at the top of their class.

Wilson came into race one having won three of the first six races of the season and showcased his veteran skill set on the Mid-Ohio course creating excitement among the crowd and anxiety with competing teams.

He came into his first race on Friday starting in P12 and challenged opponents early for the lead. During the final minutes of the race, Wilson was a contender in a four-way fight for second place but accidental contact between Wilson and another driver caused him to spin out and he finished in P4. It was a nail biting moment for everyone but Wilson finished strong and looks forward to another shot for the podium Saturday morning.

“It’s unfortunate I was bumped into a spin as I was on the cusp of clinching a podium spot but that’s a part of the race and I still finished strong in the end,” exclaimed Kris Wilson, TRG-AMR Driver. “I have my eye on the podium tomorrow and look forward to another exciting and highly competitive run.”

Eager for her first PWC race in Mid-Ohio, Nielsen will take the wheel in the GTA class Saturday evening. She wowed the crowd last weekend at the Northeast Grand Prix at Lime Rock, CT, where she had a strong run with fellow co-driver Kuno Wittmer and grabbed a podium for TRG-AMR.

“TRG-AMR has a rich history on this course and I am confident in Christina and Kris to compete for the win this weekend,” said Kevin Buckler, Chief Executive Officer at TRG-AMR. “We are facing some tough competition but both of our drivers are capable of taking the top step of the podium.”

The live broadcast for all races this weekend can be found online at www.world-challenge.com. Wilson will try once more to place podium on Saturday at 11:45am ET in the PWC GTS Race #2; Nielsen will attempt a podium win in her inaugural PWC GTA Cup Race Saturday at 4:45pm ET and will drive again on Sunday in the PWC GTA Cup Race #2 at 12pm ET.

For those who are unable to tune in live, CBS Sports Network will rebroadcast the GTA class races on Sunday, August 9 at 4pm ET and the GTS class races on Wednesday, August 12 at 9pm ET.
