PETALUMA, CA (June 6, 2016): TRG’s three Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport drivers raced at Laguna Seca for the second time this year. Once again, the team walked away with a podium, and this time it was due to a great finish by new Clubsport driver Greg Milzcik. Returning TRG Porsche drivers Craig Lyons and Patrice Gautier also saw their share of success over the Pirelli GT3 Cup Trophy USA event.
Milzcik took his No. 77 Wolfwood Refuge/That Newfoundland Place Porsche to a 3rd-place finish on Saturday’s race, the first in a double-header weekend at this historic raceway. This weekend’s sessions were the first time he had raced with the GT4 Clubsport, where he showed his race skill by consistently shaving seconds off of his lap times.
In Friday’s Practice 2, Craig Lyons was second-fastest in class after showing continual improvement with his No. 3 Stor-It Self Storage/Mobettah Collectible Cars in the opening laps of the session. Patrice Gautier also had a good showing, with his No. 66 Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport setting the fastest time in the leading laps of of Sunday’s Race 2.
The next Pirelli GT3 Cup Trophy USA double-header race weekend will be held at TRG’s “home track,” Sonoma Raceway, from July 1-3. This Bay-Area track is enveloped by the beautiful Californian wine country, is one of the most famous West coast courses, and is just minutes away from TRG’s headquarters.
