PETALUMA, CA (August 29, 2016): TRG Lamborghini is taking home two more trophies after a successful double-header race weekend at VIRginia International Raceway. The Joel Janco and Jonatan Jorge driver duo took 3rd place on Saturday’s Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo North America race, and 4th in Sunday’s race. Twenty-one Huracán drivers in multiple classes made for an dynamic and volatile field of competitors over a hot, stormy race weekend.

The team’s No. 66 Death to Lionfish/LaSalle Solutions/Adobe Road Winery Lamborghini Huracán Super Trofeo car was piloted by two strong drivers who were able to navigate through a mix of racing incidents. Multiple classes on track, simultaneously, created an exciting element to what is already the fastest single-make series on earth ― these cars can reach speeds of 170 MPH at VIR. Joel Janco has experience in Prototype Lites and was able to team up with his coach Jonatan Jorge, for the first time with TRG Lamborghini. This team showed both skill and experience maneuvering through a variety of expertise levels of their competitors.

“This was a great weekend for all of us and I cannot be prouder of Joel and JJ,” said Kevin Buckler, CEO. “The two of them got here and really put their heads down, studied and made improvements with our engineer and were faster on the track at every session. As they were both starting to learn the car, their strong driving skills really showed and they put together one hell of a performance both days! As usual, the TRG team performed flawlessly and the car ran every lap. Really great “heads up” driving by both drivers and a lot of hard work put them on the podium this weekend in some pretty heady company. Great job!”

The No. 66 Lamborghini will race at the Circuit of the Americas during Lone Star Le Mans weekend, September 15-17.
